For over 14 years, Kara has personally handpicked every garment adorning the racks of the studio wardrobe from various shops around New Zealand and online from overseas, curated specifically for her clients. Kara’s passion lies in crafting a truly personal, unique and bespoke experience for each client. Often, the garments we desire for a photoshoot are missing from our own closets, and for clients to source them themselves can require exhaustive searches through shops or online platforms, often with little success and significant costs. By curating a couture wardrobe for clients to hire garments from, Kara aims to alleviate this, enabling her clients to fully immerse themselves in the experience without the hassle.
Kara often liken herself to a magpie, irresistibly drawn to the glimmer of sparkle, the delicacy of lace, and the allure of tulle—always captivated by intricate details. Discovering and selecting new pieces for the studio wardrobe brings Kara immense joy. Each garment, with its unique allure and beauty, is a treasure, Kara takes great pleasure in admiring the array of options available to enhance her clients' experiences. It is when the garments are worn my her clients and she sees the happniess and joy in her clients while photographing them that it really fills her heart.
Creating the couture wardrobe also allows Kara to have more creativity in designing her clients' photoshoots, contributing to the enhancement of the final images.". It's a testament to this dedication that over 90% of the photoshoots showcased on the website feature garments from the studio wardrobe. Kara often jokes to her clients saying that they could arrive in their undergarments, and she can still style them in a variety of looks, which is generally what happens —although, naturally, they arrive fully dressed!
